Frequently Asked Questions:
You can form a team with families and ask your friends or acquaintances to participate. Also consider a football team, scouting group, school class, business department or a music club that can do this together.
The answer is no because:
1. We want to offer 5 families a package of at least 20 items.
2. If several team members have to buy more items in 5 copies in order to be able to put 20 items in the 5 packages, it becomes more expensive for people to participate.

A budget is needed to buy a little something for all family members. This is about the gesture and the fact that there is a Christmas present for everyone. This can be sponsored by 1 person instead of buying groceries, but all team members can also contribute 5 euros, for example.
Questions about the team of 20 people:
Ask local care providers such as the center for youth and families, social organizations, outpatient youth care providers, municipalities and church councils, for example.
They often know families who could really use it. Also agree with these organizations whether it is possible for the intermediaries to deliver the packages to the families.
The intermediaries of the organizations involved make a decision as to who would best receive a package.
This may be 1 organization that selects 5 families, but it can of course also be 5 organizations that each select 1 family. There are no criteria other than that one could really use some support. There is no income test.
Ask the intermediaries if they can provide feedback on how the package was received. The reactions will be heart-warming and moving. Share this with your team so that they also know why it was done.
Try to deliver the packages on the Monday (December 20) or Tuesday (December 21) before Christmas. This way you can add fresh items on the last day.
The people who receive it do not need to know who is giving it to them. People in this situation often feel reluctant to receive this. We also want to guarantee anonymity because the package cannot be traced back to one of the team members.
Your package also includes non-food items such as detergent, sanitary towels, toothpaste, shampoo, toothbrushes, etc. The package mainly contains items to support people for a longer period of time and not be able to make a number of meals ahead.
Our package is issued once and not weekly. Customized gifts are purchased for each family member. There is no income test or other condition to qualify for this package. The recipient receives this package because someone from his or her care network grants this to him or her.
Of course, luxury items such as Christmas cookies, chocolate or a Christmas loaf may also be included in the packages. As long as there is a mix of usable food and non-food products. Families benefit most from items that can be used for longer, such as olive oil, rice, detergent, toothpaste, etc.
Families often know people in their environment who are not having an easy time. They can then easily pass on the items to others, which makes the effect of your packages even greater.
Fresh fruit and vegetables are also a luxury product for many. Try to buy it on the last day before delivery. You can also ask 1 or 2 people from your team to contribute this.
